Shaped by water over thousands of years, the limestone system extends for several kilometres and features stalactites, stalagmites and underground streams. Below ground it stays cool year-round (from just a few degrees above zero up to around 8°C), a welcome break on a hot summer day, and a reliable option if it's raining.

The guided tour

The cave can only be visited as part of the guided visningsturen. The tour lasts around 40 minutes, runs continuously throughout opening hours, and takes up to 40 people at a time. It includes a small exhibition and the eight-minute film "Vägen till Bergakungens sal". The route runs through the developed show section of the cave, sturdy shoes and a jacket are worth bringing, as it's cool and damp underground.
